Ripe red fruit, glycerol, Mediterranean herbs, aromatic lift, and a cleaner fruit partner for the barrel.
In June, Verdú averaged 29.2 / 21.4°C by day and night against 27.7 / 19.9°C at Vilobí. Night humidity was 61.2% at Verdú and 79.1% at Vilobí; in August it was 62.9% and 81.6%. The Vilobí Merlot then received 39.9 mm of rain in its final 30 days, against 21.0 mm for Verdú Garnatxa. Separate fruit analyses determine how these different heat, humidity and rainfall histories enter the 50:50 blend.
